Transparent Pricing – Only Pay for the Time You Use

For all local moves and services, we charge by the hour with a one-hour minimum, then in 15-minute increments after that. This means you’re only paying for the actual time we spend on your move – no overestimating, no guesswork. It’s a fair and flexible system that often works out much more cost-effective for our customers.

We are a registered WINZ supplier for all local and nationwide moves.

Simple, Fair Rates – With No Hidden Surprises

We offer two truck sizes to suit your move:

  • Medium Truck + Crew
  • Large Truck + Crew

Our moving crews always work in teams of two for efficiency and Health & Safety compliance.

We charge depot to depot, meaning the time is calculated from when our team departs our depot to when they return after your job is completed.

We sure do. We can supply boxes, tape, wrapping materials, and more. Let us know what you need and we’ll include it in your booking.

Yes! Our team is happy to dismantle beds, tables, and other furniture items on moving day and reassemble them at your new place.

Yes, we do! We offer secure, flexible short- and long-term storage solutions at three facilities across Nelson and two facilities in Blenheim. Whether you’re between homes, downsizing, renovating, or just need extra space, we’ve got you covered.

Our storage containers are clean, dry, and kept on our secure sites for easy access and peace of mind. We can even move your items in and out of storage for you – making the process seamless from start to finish.

Not necessarily. Clothing can stay in drawers, especially if the furniture is sturdy. However, we recommend removing heavy or breakable items to make lifting safer and easier. If in doubt, just ask our team on the day!

Yes, we do! We regularly complete long-distance moves throughout New Zealand, with routes scheduled based on demand. Whether you’re heading north or south, we’ll work with you to coordinate a time that fits your move.

Goods are carried at Owners Risk – our standard limited cover.

Your insurance options are:

Option 1: Premium Moving Insurance – We strongly advise you obtain your own private transit insurance. Van and a Man can provide enhanced cover at an additional cost. Please contact us for details and a quote.

Option 2: Arrange your own Insurance. You’re welcome to arrange your own cover independently if preferred.

Not necessarily! We’re used to working in tight spaces. Let us know in advance and we’ll assess the best approach. If needed, we can use a smaller vehicle or park nearby and shuttle your items in using moving equipment.

Great question! Here are a few helpful tips:

• Be packed and ready before the team arrives.
• Label your boxes clearly by room.
• Disassemble any large furniture in advance (if you’re able to).
• Make sure driveways, hallways, and entrances are clear.

A little prep can save a lot of time – and money!

Payment is due on receipt of invoice, once the job is complete. We accept EFTPOS (only available at our Nelson office 5 Rotherham Street, Tahunanui ) credit/debit card over the phone and bank transfer. For Nationwide moves or deliveries payment is required in advance.
